Family & Psychological Services is a private, nonprofit organization providing outpatient mental health care through a dedicated team of licensed or credentialed professionals. Founded in 1974, the agency was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1977. The name, Family & Psychological Services, was adopted to reflect the primary services offered.
When the agency moved to its present location in 1982, it was granted a Certificate of Need by the state of New Jersey as an outpatient mental health care facility for the six-county, southern New Jersey regions. The agency provides services for all socioeconomic levels and racial groups. It has accepted the unique role of meeting community needs by making qualified, professional therapists available to middle-income persons at affordable rates.
